FlowReporter's Group Valve feature provides a virtual control entity that manages all the individual (physical) valves within a specific group. This allows for centralized control and automated responses for multiple valves simultaneously.

Enabling and Disabling the Group Valve
Before using the group valve's control features, you need to ensure it's active for the group.
The Group Valve acts as a master switch, allowing you to control all member valves as a single unit.
To enable or disable the virtual Group Valve:
Navigate to Group Settings -> Valve -> Enable/Disable Group Valve.
Operating the Group Valve (Open/Close)
Controlling the virtual Group Valve directly propagates the command to all associated physical valves.
When you command the Group Valve to open or close, this action is propagated down to every physical valve that is part of the group.
To open or close the Group Valve:
Navigate to Group Settings -> Valve -> Control Group Valve.
Automated Shut-off on Alert
This powerful feature allows the Group Valve to automatically shut off all member valves when a leak is suspected by any device in the group.
By ticking "Trigger on alert", the virtual Group Valve will activate if any device within the group registers a major alert (which typically involves a device-level water shut-off).
This immediate response causes all physical valves in the group to shut off simultaneously.
Use Case: This is especially useful for mitigating damage in complex installations, such as buildings with multiple valves installed on the same riser fed from different sources (e.g., mains water and a gravity tank). Shutting off all valves at once minimizes potential damage from a multi-directional leak.
Note: This is a premium feature. All devices in the group must have a premium subscription before this option becomes available.
To enable/disable the Group Trigger:
Navigate to Group Settings -> Valve -> Trigger on Alert.
Scheduling Group Valve Operations
You can set recurring times for the entire group of valves to open and close, just as you would with a single valve.
Note: This is a premium feature. All devices in the group must have a premium subscription before this option becomes available.
To set up a schedule for automatic opening and closing:
Navigate to Group Settings -> Valve -> Group Valve Schedule.
