Thresholds can be set up to trigger alerts and close a LeakNet device's attached valve if the difference between two measured sensors exceeds a certain value. This is useful for situations when two sensors expect the same flow and a difference is likely due to a leak.
NOTE: Comparison thresholds are only available when a LeakNet device has exactly 2 flow sensors on input 1 and 2.
Setting Comparison Thresholds
To set comparison thresholds, go to the Settings page for either of the flow sensors to compare and choose the option "LeakNet Compare Threshold".
NOTE: If you cannot see that option, go to "Device Configuration and Settings" and double-check that your device is configured correctly.
This setting has various sections, which are outlined below.
Alerts
The Alerts section shows your current comparison alerts. As with regular leak alerts, these can be archived by ticking the "Archive" checkbox and then pressing "Archive Alerts". Archived alerts are hidden from view, but can be viewed by pressing "Archived Alerts".
This functionality is also present in the device setting View Alerts - comparison alerts are shown in the section "LeakNet Compare".
Alert Settings
The Alert Settings section allows you to choose whether or not to receive email and SMS comparison alerts. This will not prevent comparison alerts from triggering; for that, see "Alarms" below.
Alarms
The Alarms section lets you set a comparison alert threshold in litres. Simply move the Alert slider to the correct value and click Save to update your LeakNet device with the new settings. If you wish to disable comparison alerts, set the the threshold to 0 litres.
Alternatively, you can choose to learn comparison thresholds based on existing data. To do this, click Relearn, choose the timespan you wish to learn from using the subsequent dropdown menu, and then click Learn to begin calculating your new threshold. Once learned, you can click Save if you are comfortable with the learned value.
