The device will save its configuration in memory so when it boots up, it doesn’t have to connect online to start working.
For this to happen, you will need to have configured the device, either using the SD card or by connecting to the internet and setting it up on the app.
You can have up to 2 offline configurations, each one will normally include:
- Permanent alert thresholds (time and volume, per flow sensor)
- Dynamic alert thresholds (time and volume depending on time of day and day of the week, per flow sensor )
- Holiday thresholds (next one in future, per flow sensor)
- Inactivity threshold
- Peak flow threshold
- Leak cable configuration
- Valve type
- Shutoff Zones (up to 20)
- Freeze threshold
- Valve exercise hour
- Purging regime
- Time zone details (and 4 years DST changes)
Whenever any changes are made to the configuration on FlowReporter, the device will reset and download the most recent configuration (replacing any offline configurations in the process).
When the device is switched on, it follows the following steps:
- Do I have configuration stored in memory? If so, use this (and copy to SD card).
- If not, do I have configuration stored on the SD card? If so, use this (and copy to memory).
- If not, do I have WiFi credentials? If so, try to connect online.
- If online, and a change is detected, download updated configuration (and copy to memory and SD card).
- If not online after 2 minutes, use offline settings and try again in 30 minutes.
- If no online or offline settings, there is nothing I can do!
Factory Reset
To erase all configuration memory (in device and SD card if inserted), triple tap the Mode button on the device while it is switched on. If successful, you will see it restart immediately. Be warned, if the device of offline, there will be no settings and the device will not work!!!
