The Device Configuration section of the settings page offers the following options:

  • Rename Device: renames the device for your account. This doesn't affect other users with access to the same device.
  • Device Configuration and Settings: offers a number of advanced options for your device. Only available for the device owner.
  • Tariff Configuration: allows you to set the water rates you are charged by your water provider. This will allow for more accurate graphs when viewing currency units.
  • Device Operations Log: lists the 200 most recent operations that were performed on this device.
  • Delete Device For Me: deletes the device from your account while ensuring that other users retain access. Only available for users other than the device owner.

Some further information on the "Tariff Configuration" and "Device Configuration and Settings" options below.

Tariff Configuration

A sensor's tariff settings consists of two values both given in GBP (£):

  • Annual Standing Charge: the yearly fee you pay in addition to your actual water usage.
  • Cost per unit: how much you are charged per m3 of water consumed.

Once you have set up the tariff configuration, the actual cost of your water usage can be viewed in graphs. Within the graph view page, click Options and ensure that the value "in" is set to "£". Then click Refresh to update the graph display.

Device Configuration and Settings

The device owner has a number of additional options available for the device.

Many of these options can negatively affect the operation of the device if used incorrectly. Caution is advised.

  • Restart device: Restarts the device, causing it to disconnect for a short time. This will ensure that the device's settings are up-to-date.
  • Configure meter and valve: Allows the device's expected inputs and valve to be edited if necessary. Also allows the user to disable the valve to prevent it from closing.
    • Changing the settings of a flow sensor may result in water usage data stored prior to the change being incorrect.
  • Reset WiFi password: clear's the device's Wi-Fi configuration. This should not be done without physical access to the device, which is required to set a new Wi-Fi configuration up.
  • Force offline: disconnects the device from FlowReporter. The device will remain functional, but it will revert to its standard offline functionality and will no longer be accessible remotely.
  • Delete device: deletes the device and all its flow data.
    •  This will affect all users with access to the device. Deletion is not reversible, though the device may be reinstalled with via the FlowReporter mobile app if the user has physical access.
