Other Users

This section in device settings allows you to:

  • Share access to the device with others via their email address.
  • View other users of the device and modify their permissions.

Share access

  • The recipient will receive an email with a link to accept access to the device (if not, make sure they check the spam folder).
  • They must have registered on the website with the same email address before they can accept access.
  • Once they are logged in and have clicked the email link, the device will appear on their dashboard.

If you are having problems, and the recipient is not concerned about receiving email alerts (if they can’t get the registration email, then they probably won’t get alert emails either), then make a note of the “confirm code” after sending them access and ask them to go to flowreporter.com/loggedin/confirmkey.php , login and enter the confirm code.

View other users & modify permissions

You can view other users of a device by clicking the “Other users” button. You can modify these permissions at any time, only after they have accepted access.

Permissions include:

  • Connection Alerts – determines whether they get a notification when the device goes offline. This is set by the user themselves under their personal device alert settings.
  • Leak Alerts – determines whether they get a notification on a leak. This is set by the user themselves under their personal device alert settings.
  • View graphs – are they able to see consumption data for the device?
  • Control valve – are they able to control the valve?
  • View users – are they able to see the list of other users?
  • Add users – are they able to send access to other users?
  • Remove users – are they able to remove access to other users? This includes modifying permissions.
  • Owner – this is the user which registered the device. Owners can only be changed by re-registering the Base device.

By default, a shared user will be able to receive leak alerts and connection alerts, view graphs, control valve and view other users.
