1.Register as a user
Register as a user by filling your personal details in the relevant fields and clicking the submit button. An email with a link to confirm your registration will be sent to the email address you provide. Once confirmed, you should be able to log in and view your dashboard. you can modify some of your details by clicking the “user settings” button.
2. Register a Base Device
To register a device, click “Register New Base” from your dashboard. Follow the given instructions and click “Next”. Once this is completed, you will be taken to the “Configure Device” page.
Under “Configure Device”, the “ID” field will be pre-filled. However, you have the choice of naming the device, configuring and naming sensors (temperature or flow) and a valve.
Click the save button when done. You will now be able to see your Base Device under “Dashboard”.
Clicking your Base Device will take you to “Base Settings”, where you can either reconfigure the base or control the valve.
3. Monitor Sensor Devices
3.1 Monitor a flow
Click the corresponding “flow sensor” input button from your dashboard to get to graph page.
Water consumption is categorized into the following time frames:
- Real-time
- Day
- Month
- Year
By default, the graph of consuption for the current month is displayed.
The timeframe can be changed on the graph page by selecting the required option from the “View” dropdown.
There is also an “options” button which reveals the following options when clicked:
- in – Select the units you wish to view in – litres, £, m3, bathtubs or gallons.
- as – choose to view a graph or pie chart (of events).
- From – choose the start date for graph .
- To – choose the end date for graph.
- Refine button – captures all selected options and modifies graph accordingly.
- Hide options button – removes all customization options and displays the default.
3.2 Monitor Temperature
Click the corresponding “temperature” input button from your dashboard to get to the temperature graph page.
By default, the graph of temperatures recorded for the current day is displayed.
You can specify the date range to view by selecting the “from” and “to” dates from the labeled fields then click “view”.
4. Device settings
This page is accessed by clicking “Settings” from any of the graph pages (temperature or flow).
4.1 Temperature
a) Temperature Sensors: Displays the IDs and names of the various sensors attached to a Temperature Sensor device, the names are displayed in an editable field hence can be modified.
b) Other users : This setting allows you to share access to the device with others via their email address, view other users of the device and modify permissions.
c) Device details: This setting allows you rename a sensor device or delete the device (from your account) by clicking on the buttons with the appropriate label.
4.2 Flow
a) Alerts: Displays all unacknowledged alerts. Minor alerts are displayed in orange while major alerts are displayed in red.
b) Alert Settings : This allows you to restrict emails and sms from being sent to you or to restrict FlowReporter from checking for alert thresholds altogether.
c) Alarms: This allows you to set alarms which can either be: Permanent, Dynamic, or Holiday. Alarm thresholds can be learned from your past water usage.
d) Other users : This setting allows you to share access to the device with others via their email address, view other users of the device and modify permissions.
e) Device details: This setting allows you set the tariffs rename a sensor device or delete the device (from your account) by clicking on the buttons with the appropriate label.
5. Control valve
Under “Base Settings”, you can control a valve either by opening/ closing a valve, view the history of valve status changes by clicking “View Log” or disable a valve if you require an exceptional amount of water usage and do not want the water to turn off.
The valve can also be controlled from the ‘flow’ graph pages.
